Inspiring Tomorrow's Singers

Choral Academy Hackney

Rodolfus Choral Academy - Hackney

Rodolfus Choral Academy, Hackney

As the second year of our Choral Academy Hackney draws to a close, we reflect on the amazing year we have had.

Our choral leader George Cook has continued his weekly lessons in two schools, St Mary’s Stoke Newington and Holy Trinity Dalston, and this month singers from years 3-5 came together to perform Alexander L’Estrange’s cantata, Ahoy! Sing for the Mary Rose. The singers were joined by a professional quintet who can usually be found playing for West End shows!

You can read the full evaluation of our project here, including plans we have for Year 3.

Funding the project

We are currently raising funds to continue the project into Year 3. Our plans include a continuation of the weekly choral singing lessons and the introduction of one-off workshops in the half term holidays and a longer choral course in the summer holidays held locally.

We are generously supported by the West Hackney Parochial Trust, The Charles S French Trust, the Armourers and Brasiers Gauntlet Trust and the Lyon Family Trust.

If you are able to support us further, please email annabel@therodolfusfoundation.org.uk
